Nicely, I for 1 find it challenging based on which quilt block I determine to tackle. But there was a time that I thought it was extremely easy. and then I began to make my initial quilt. The account of that knowledge is as follows. My initial quilt was created in 1977, when I was pregnant with my first child. I took left more than fabric (mostly florals and a blue solid fabric) that I had utilized to make my sister’s clothes for college. I wanted a 9patch appear, so I cut all of it into 5 inch squares individually with scissors, arranged them in a pleasing manner and sewed them back together. Due to the fact I wanted it to be big enough for a full size bed, I added sashing with corner stones around each block. The sashing was a light yellow cotton fabric and the corner stones had been left more than tan corduroy. I figured they would go with the floral and solid fabrics I used for the 9patches. It looked pretty great. So, I purchased a Holly Hobby tan prequilted fabric to put on the back and use as an outer border for the front. I measured the quilt leading after putting on the border and found that the best of the quilt was wider than the bottom by about 6 inches. I believed how could that be.
